2026 Leadership Workshop Series: Connect with Confidence: A Dale Carnegie Workshop on Essential Networking Tools with Carissa Rainey

Thursday, July 9, 2026 (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) (CDT)

Description

Most professional and personal relationships don’t fail because of lack of expertise — they falter because of miscommunication. Awkward conversations. Missed cues. Talking past one another instead of building real connection.
This workshop is designed for people who want to communicate more effectively across different personalities and situations — whether that’s at work, in leadership roles, or in everyday interactions. Drawing from Dale Carnegie’s proven principles, participants will learn practical conversation tools that help them listen more intentionally, ask better questions, and build rapport that actually lasts.
This is not a lecture on networking. It’s a hands-on session focused on how small shifts in how we show up in conversations can change relationships, trust, and outcomes.

By the end of this sessions participants will be able to:

  1. Understand and apply conversation links to foster engaging dialogues.
  2. Develop attentive listening skills to enhance interpersonal relationships.
  3. Learn networking tips to create lasting professional connections.
  4. Practice open-ended questioning to stimulate dynamic conversations.

About Carissa

A former college volleyball player at DMACC and Buena Vista University, Carissa transferred to the University of Northern Iowa to study Health Promotion, where a passion for wellness and helping others truly took shape.
