2026 Leadership Workshop Series: Maximizing Leadership Capacity: Developing Transformational Skills for Both Emerging and Seasoned Leaders with Jon Sexton

Friday, May 22, 2026 (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) (CDT)

Description

Leadership isn't something that's solely reserved for those with formal titles. Whether you're mentoring a colleague, leading a project, or expanding your capacity as a manager of others, your ability to lead significantly influences the experiences of those around you.

Consider this: 70% of employee engagement is directly attributable to the manager, yet many people receive little to no leadership training when stepping into formal roles of influence. The good news? Leadership is a skill that can be developed, and it's one of the best investments you can make for both your team and organization.

In this interactive session, we'll explore the transformational leadership model and practical behaviors you can develop over time. We'll examine what separates effective leaders from ineffective ones, and why self-awareness and emotional intelligence are essential for effectively influencing those around you.

Key Takeaways - By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Understand the cost of ineffective leadership and the ripple effects on teams, culture, and engagement.
  • Explore the Full Range Leadership Model, with an emphasis on the five pillars of Transformational Leadership.
  • Identify the role of self-awareness and social awareness (emotional intelligence) in building trust and influence.
  • Learn to use intentional reflection to grow leadership style and capacity.
  • Explore developmental tools to accelerate leadership growth, including talent assessments, mentorship, networking, 360 reviews, and coaching.
